Description
The Centre for Studies in Religion and Society (CSRS) at the University of Victoria invites applications for its one-year graduate fellowships beginning September 1, 2026. These fellowships support students whose research examines religion within social and cultural contexts—past or present. While primarily intended for MA and PhD students at the University of Victoria, candidates from other universities may also be considered if their research aligns with the Centre’s mandate.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
-
Be a graduate student (MA or PhD) at UVic; students from other institutions may also apply.
-
Be working on their thesis or dissertation during the fellowship period (MA students in their writing stage are eligible).
-
Have previously held a CSRS MA fellowship if reapplying at the PhD level.
-
Note that only one CSRS fellowship may be held by a PhD student at a time.
-
Not hold overlapping UVic center-based awards, as the fellowship includes dedicated office space; recipients must choose one and notify CSRS if awarded multiple.
-
Applicants from any country are welcome but are responsible for travel, accommodation, visa, and insurance costs.
