Scholarship Value

Université de Sherbrooke Excellence in Research Scholarship:

  • Master’s: $17,000 per year for up to 2 years

  • Doctoral: $20,000 per year for up to 3 years

Laurent and Claire B. Beaudoin Excellence Scholarship:

  • Master’s: $25,000 per year for up to 2 years

  • Doctoral: $35,000 per year for up to 3 years

Description

The Université de Sherbrooke Excellence Scholarship Program for Graduate Research Studies provides significant financial support to exceptional students pursuing research training at the master’s or doctoral level. Available across disciplines—including engineering, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, and health sciences—this program aims to foster high-level academic achievement and research excellence.

The program includes two distinguished funding streams:

  1. Université de Sherbrooke Excellence Scholarships in Research

  2. Laurent and Claire B. Beaudoin Excellence Scholarships

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be officially registered in an eligible master’s or doctoral program for a maximum of three semesters (S1, S2, or S3); or

  • Have been admitted to an eligible program and plan to register in the upcoming semester.

  • Hold a first-cycle university degree (equivalent to a bachelor’s).

  • Be domiciled in Quebec.

  • Not currently hold a scholarship from an external organization (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR, FRQ, etc.) with a value or duration equal to or greater than the institutional scholarship.

  • Be enrolled full-time in a research-based graduate program and dedicate the majority of their time to research or research-training activities.

  • Have obtained a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.3 (B) or equivalent in the program used for admission.

    • Applicants with exceptional achievements may be considered even if slightly below the grade threshold.
